garf1eld028: I’m sure that in a case like this, that CISD was used, and when that happens, everyone from the dispatchers on down to the lowest ranking firefighter or probie involved is counseled.

It’s such a sad thing to have such an uninformed chief make such a call. Everyone was out of the sofa shop and yet they went in anyways and paid the ultimate.

RIP C9,W6,343, and everyother firefighter that has passed in the line of duty.

Of those who have burdens, what about the dispatchers? Those who ordered the engines to respond to this fire send these men to their death. True, death is something we understand, and fear in FF, but of anyone else dispatchers talk to the Firefighters, and the Chief just as much. It’s easy to say “dispatch engine 12″, then heart wrenching to hear the crew of engine 12 is dead. They might not know these people, but they feel the pain just like everyone else. My heart goes out to everyone.
