LIVE in CHARLESTON, SC? What do you do for fun? I’m going on vacation and want to have fun without the crowd.

I figure if you live there or have been there for a while, you’ll know where to have fun without too many tourists. What can you do there? I think it’s mostly like a historic place, but is there anything fun to do? Thanks!

    GIRL!!!! Go down to the train station, get yourself a pass for the trolley and there is SO much you can do really inexpensively. When you get there, check out the flyers for your personal likes. There are history tours (you can do on your own OR with others) (some things to see - Rainbow Row, the military park), shop the market on Market Street (it is really long & is mostly handmade or home grown items), or shop the newer sections of town. There is a really cool submarine near the train station and so many other neat things nearby that you can do so much inexpensively and still have tons of fun.

    Also, to avoid the tourists check out the back roads. There are so many out of the way shops, eateries and such.

    What we like to do is find the way the least amount of people are going, and go that way exploring on our own. (Walking - not driving.)
